População de São João do Arraial tem internet grátis em toda a cidade.
A Prefeitura de São João do Arraial em parceria com a Care Brasil implantou no dia 07 de novembro internet grátis para todas as pessoas que tem computador no município, (cidade à 253 km de Teresina).
De acordo com o Prefeito, Francisco Limma, para ter acesso ao serviço, basta que os usuários mantenham seus filhos matriculados nas escolas, as gestantes devem estar com o pré-natal em dia, além de estarem dentro dos padrões com os tributos municipais.
"Esta é uma ação pioneira no Estado do Piauí e talvez uma das primeiras no Brasil que consolida a inclusão digital acessível e gratuitamente vinculada a uma contrapartida social", comemora o prefeito Francisco Limma (PT).
O assessor técnico da prefeitura, Joelson Rodrigues explicou que o sinal é captado via satélite para uma base no município e distribuído via rádio para usuários. Com a parceria, a prefeitura entrou com a aquisição e manutenção dos equipamentos e a Care Brasil, vai arcar durante dois anos, com os custos da assinatura mensal.
Segundo João Martins, coordenador estadual da Care Brasil, a parceria atende aos objetivos do projeto "Empoderamento das Comunidades Rurais do Piauí", que tem apoio da União Européia e, voltado para o fortalecimento da capacidade empreendedora da juventude rural dos pequenos municípios.
Francisco acredita que o programa é de grande importância para a região e um facilitador no acesso das pessoas às informações. "Isto representa a continuidade de uma ação que teve início a partir de uma parceria com a Caixa Econômica, na qual fizemos uma capacitação de servidores, estudantes e de pessoas da comunidade, que resultou na capacitação de 10% dos moradores, sobretudo da juventude", ressalta Francisco Limma.
A expectativa é de que esse mesmo projeto seja executado com sucesso e que os demais municípios sigam o exemplo da prefeitura de São João do Arraial no incentivo à inclusão digital.
São João do Arraial vem se destacando com idéias inovadoras, que é o caso da moeda social que foi criada com o nome de Cocais que já é aceita em vários estabelecimentos comerciais da cidade.
